Rental Housing Providers Must Provide Dampness & Mold Booklet

Effective January 1, 2022, rental-housing providers are required to provide prospective residents with a new booklet entitled, “Information on Dampness and Mold for Renters in California.”

The booklet, which was developed by the California Department of Public Health, is the result of legislation that was passed in 2001 - SB 732, The Toxic Mold Protection Act.

The booklet is available in English and Spanish, and can be downloaded via the California Department of Public Health website. Rental housing providers should download, print, and provide copies of the booklet to all prospective residents.
