An opportunity for members to volunteer their time and talent to AAOC and their fellow members
The Apartment Association of Orange County has four primary committees upon which members may volunteer to serve. These committees meet on the second Tuesday of the month and help to advance key association programs and initiatives.
Committee service is an excellent opportunity to contribute your time and talent in support of AAOC, get to know and work closely with other owners, property managers, and supplier members, learn more about the association, and develop as a leader within AAOC and as part of the greater multifamily industry.

EDUCATION COMMITTEE
Committee Chair - Frank Alvarez (Buffalo Maintenance, Inc.)

The AAOC Education Committee guides the development, marketing, and delivery of educational programming for the benefit and growth of the AAOC membership, and the advancement of the rental-housing industry. It also helps develop a bench of experienced, competent instructors for the classes, workshops, and certification courses offered by AAOC.
The committee meets on the second Tuesday of every month at 9 a.m.

LEGISLATIVE COMMITTEE
Committee Chair - Amy Fylling (Advanced Management Company)
Staff Liaison - Chip Ahlswede, Vice President of External Affairs
The AAOC Legislative Committee reviews and discusses proposed legislation, and assists in shaping the association's legislative priorities and positions on local, state and federal policy issues that affect the rental-housing industry. The committee is responsible for establishing recommended association positions for the consideration of the AAOC Board of Directors. Committee participation is by appointment only.
The committee meets on the second Tuesday of every month at 4 p.m., and all other Tuesdays at 10 a.m., to review and discuss these matters, and establish recommended association positions for the consideration of the AAOC Board of Directors.

MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE

The AAOC Membership Committee assists in the association's membership development and retention efforts. The committee meets on the second Tuesday of every month at 2 p.m. to discuss these matters, membership trends, as well as the evolving needs of rental-housing providers and how the association can meet these needs and grow the AAOC membership accordingly.

PRODUCT & SERVICE COUNCIL COMMITTEE

The AAOC Product & Service Council Committee assists in the development and delivery of programming and special events throughout the year, that facilitate networking and business development between the association's Product & Service Council (PSC) members and its rental property owner and operator members. The committee meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 10:30 a.m.
