ELECTION 2020
Help AAOC Defeat Proposition 21
Rent control will be back on the California ballot this November and the stakes for the rental-housing industry have never been higher.
Proposition 21 would not only expand statewide rent control measures but also empower local governments to impose even more restrictive rent control policies of their own.
Help AAOC defeat Proposition 21 by making a contribution of at least $250, plus $100 per unit to AAOC's
Multi-County Property Rights PAC. Your contribution will help AAOC and its partners fight for your property rights and your business this fall.

Multi-County Property Rights Political Action Committee (sponsored by Apartment Association of Orange County)
The Multi-County Property Rights Political Action Committee (sponsored by Apartment Association of Orange County) was formed to contribute to (or in some cases fight against) state and local measures and initiatives that affect the multi-housing industry. Examples are fighting against measures or initiatives that promote rent control, eminent domain and higher taxes and supporting measures and initiatives that hope to limit these factors. In the 2008 election, the Multi-County Property Rights PAC was very active in helping pass Measure J, which gives residents the right to vote to approve certain increases in County retirement benefits. This provides a safeguard for taxpayers against any fee increases that might occur due to excessive employee benefit packages. The Multi-County Property Rights PAC played a major role in getting this measure passed. Legal Defense Fund
Each year nearly two million lawsuits are filed in the State of California. The danger of lawsuits affecting our industry appears be at an all time high. These lawsuits may be major issues that affect our industry, such as Section 8 vouchers, or something as minor as a leaky roof or a broken stair. AAOC is committed to combating these lawsuits for our industry as a whole and will continue working to remain proactive in protecting our members. The Legal Defense Fund is used by the Association to join with members to defend against lawsuits, which if not stopped, would have a detrimental effect on all property owners. Make a donation to the Legal Defense Fund: This contribution is voluntary and not tax deductible.
